Moonmoth
by Karen Bingham Pape

The moonmoth trembles
as she lays each egg,
a fairy hovering
over the leaf,
tumbling each jade
bead to matching
bed. She catches
moonlight
this creature
of night, flutters
stardust to seal
her young with
glitter, waits
for each to break
into moonbegotten
flight.
